Hence, a prompt water diuresis will occur. 4. However, this will increase urinary bicarbonate wasting and may well promote a bicarbonate diuresis . 5. Immersion diuresis is caused by immersion of the body in water ( or equivalent liquid ). 6. Metolazone and a loop diuretic will synergistically enhance diuresis over the use of either agent alone. 7. In the kidney, it is inhibited by atrial natriuretic peptide, causing natriuresis and diuresis . 8. It is supposed to promote diuresis and milk secretion, activate blood circulation and relieve swelling. 9. Their inhibition results in diuresis due to urea induced osmosis in the collecting ducts of the kidney. 10. And both Powerade and Lucozade contain more electrolytes than water, which could possibly cause a diuresis .
